Description about therapeutic approaches:
Tammie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, EMDR therapist and co-founder and director of CSC. With over 12 years of experience in mental health and related fields, her practice is informed by her social work training and clinical excellence. Tammie cares deeply about the work that she does and the people she works with, and is committed to providing the best evidence-based care to help people achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Based in Daylesford (Dja Dja Wurrung), Tammie specialises in offering EMDR intensives, which condense many weeks or months of therapy into just a few days. Her EMDR intensives offer accelerated therapy for individuals from 18 years and up and are designed to support people to make meaningful and lasting change in a shorter time frame than traditional 50min sessions. She has a particular interest in working in early trauma and attachment wounding (not sure what that is – learn more here), and people who struggle with self-esteem, self-worth and confidence issues, and those who struggle with anxiety, depression or PTSD symptoms or symptoms of complex trauma.
Tammie also integrates Developmental Needs Meeting Strategy, Schema Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Poly Vagal theory, CBT, ACT and Mindfulness into her EMDR intensives.
Tammie is a passionate lifelong learner, loves to read and listen to podcasts. She is an animal lover, particularly of her Staffy, Punky, who is in Visiting Dog training and joins Tammie in the Daylesford office.
