EMDR Immersive Program
A dedicated time
and space for healing
A concentrated format of EMDR that does the deep work in days, with the preparation and support to do it safely.
Why an immersive?
Weekly therapy restarts every seven days, with much of each session spent finding your footing again. An immersive experience removes that. By concentrating hours of focused EMDR into a contained window, the work goes deep enough to actually shift. Memories that have circled for years can finally begin to settle.
How we work
Every immersive is held within a structured, trauma-informed framework. We prepare before any reprocessing begins, building the stability that makes deeper work safe. Nothing is rushed or forced, the pace is set by what your nervous system is ready for. In Thornbury, Daylesford, or online; Medicare rebates available with a Mental Health Care Plan.
Led by accredited specialists
Our immersives are delivered by accredited, EMDR-trained clinicians who work relationally, the method matters, and so does the person holding it with you. You'll be matched with the right therapist during your initial call.

Our EMDR Immersive Programs
Every program suits a wide range of experiences, from single-incident events through to complex, long-term trauma. Many people:
start with a shorter program to get a feel for the work, then
book further rounds over time if they'd like to go deeper.
If you're living with complex or long-term difficulties, you're welcome to begin with any tier; we'll pace it together and map multiple rounds if needed. All options are in-person or online, with Medicare rebates available.

Why Choose an EMDR Immersive Programme
What the format makes possible.

Common questions
The things people ask first.
Who can benefit from EMDR?
EMDR can benefit anyone struggling with symptoms that stem from disturbing or traumatic life experiences. These experiences don’t have to be a single, dramatic “big-T” trauma (like a car accident). They can also be recurring, less obvious “small-t” traumas (like childhood bullying, emotional neglect, or growing up in a high-stress environment). It can also support performance enhancement and anxiety, relationship challenges, Low self-esteem, chronic illness and grief.
Why an immersive instead of a normal 50-minute psychotherapy session?
An EMDR immersive allows the opportunity to progress through your symptoms in a more succinct and focused way without the interruption of a 50-minute session. An immersive format may decrease overall treatment time because we will have less stop and starts where we would be checking in, addressing anything that has come up between sessions, or creating stabilisation before processing.
If I'm already a weekly client, can I participate in an EMDR immersive program?
Absolutely! EMDR immersive programs are available to all existing and new clients. If you would like to explore completing an EMDR immersive program, please speak with your therapist or email us at hello@centreself.com.au
If I already have a primary therapist, can I do an EMDR immersive program as adjunct therapy?
Yes. Perhaps you’ve a felt sense that something profound has yet to change, but you’re not quite sure how to shift all the way into a new experience of yourself with your current therapist. Maybe you now cognitively understand new things, yet your body is still confused, so you’re curious about how adjunct an EMDR immersive program can help. We will identify what format is best for you during your initial consultation and are happy to communicate with your other mental health supports if you would find this beneficial.
Can my private health insurance or Medicare provide a rebate for this program?
Yes, Medicare rebates are available if you have a current mental health care plan.
A rebate will be provided for each session you attend, during your initial phone call we can discuss rebate amounts and the Gap fee.
Yes, some private health funds cover for EMDR immersive programs from an AMHSW. This includes; BUPA, Medibank, Teachers Health Fund, HCF, ARHG, and Doctors Health. We recommend you check with your private health insurer and plan before booking in your initial call with us.
Can I use my NDIS funding for an EMDR immersive program?
Your NDIS funding can be used for Standard EMDR therapy. NDIA will not cover the whole cost of an EMDR Immersive program. If you have a NDIS plan that includes funding for “Improved Daily Living” and/or that parenting support or counselling is covered under your plan, we would love to be a part of your supports. Please book an enquiry call with us today to explore our therapeutic options.
Is there a difference in effectiveness if I do my EMDR immersive program in-person or online?
Current research suggests that EMDR therapy can be highly effective both online and in-person. The “best” choice depends heavily on your individual circumstances, preferences, and the specific nature of your trauma.
Key considerations for you are:
Do you have an accessible space that is appropriate for therapy? This would be somewhere you can be in private and uninterrupted.
Would you like to be in your own safe, familiar environment. For some individuals with severe anxiety or agoraphobia, or for those processing trauma related to leaving the house, this can make therapy possible.
Are you based rurally? Telehealth options allow you more choices of therapists that are not in your immediate geographic area, allowing you to find the best possible fit.
Do you have reliable internet and a device with working camera, sound and microphone?
Are payment plans available?
Yes, we do offer payment plans. Our payment plans are worked out on your individual circumstances to ensure our programs are accessible to you. Full payment is due prior to starting your EMDR immersive program and can be booked well in advance to accommodate any payment plan.
Can my TAC or WorkSafe funding cover the cost of an EMDR immersive program?
Both TAC and WorkSafe can cover a portion of the costs for your EMDR Immersive program. We recommend contacting your case manager with your claim number and clarifying what funds are available for therapeutic supports.
What is the EMDR resource hub?
We are glad you asked! We have created an online platform for you to access as a part of our EMDR immersive program to support your therapeutic journey before, during, and after your 2-hour sessions. This has been designed to provide further information, tools and resources on mental health topics such as window of tolerance, how to maintain your mental health, and connecting with your resources. This online resource hub will be added to with new guided meditations and exercises that you will have full access to for life.
